Ryder Cup star on orange golf shirts and former presidents.
What phrase do you use too much?
Err, probably "y'know". Whenever I watch myself on interviews it seem like I just say "y'know" after everything. And "pretty sweet" as well. After I won the Ballantine's Championship in Korea I think I said it three times in one sentence.
Who is your non-sporting hero?
Ooh. Good question. Wow. I'll come back to that.
what was the last film you saw?
Body of Lies, with DiCaprio.
If you weren't a golfer what would you be?
I was going to be a mechancial engineer, and wanted to get involved in golf technology. So still quite golfy.
Who is the most famous person in your phone?
Well, George Bush Snr is probably the most famous person I've met. Meeting someone like that certainly leaves an impression. All the Bushes are pretty big golf fans.
What's your karaoke song?
Chasing Cars, Snow Patrol. I'm not bad either.
When did you last buy a golf club?
Now you're asking! That's was probably 2001. It would have been a Scotty Cameron putter.
Favourite hotel?
The Four Seasons in downtown Manhattan. I stayed there after the US Open.
Best bit of advice you've ever been given?
Just to be yourself, follow your own path and not worry what other people are doing.
Who's the longest hitter on the European Tour?
Alvaro Quieroz is the longest hitter I've played with. He's pretty scary.
And the worst dressed?
Haha. Well I'll have to leave the European Tour and go for [PGA Tour pro] Paul Goydos. He just wears horrible, ill-fitting golf shirts. Awful.
Best friend in the game?
Rory McIlroy as a player, and probably my caddie. I have to say that because you spend more time with a caddie than you do with your wife.
Okay, non-sporting hero? Last chance.
Bono's pretty cool, y'know. We'll go for Bono.
