Shin Ji-yai shot a four-under-par 68 at the Wegmans LPGA to take the clubhouse lead in a storm-interrupted second round.
The South Korean star shone in the bad weather by carding five birdies and just one bogey - on the par-four 10th - to take a three-stroke lead at Locust Hill Country Club.
Play was disrupted for over four hours by thunderstorms before darkness called it off altogether for the day with a number of players still to complete their second round.
Morgan Pressel was making her charge for the top of the leaderboard and was four under for the day through eight.
Sandra Ga shot a disappointing one-over-par 73 to finish tied third alongside three others including Michelle Wie.
The 19-year-old was four under through 12 and seven under overall after carding a 69 yesterday.
