Australian duo Darren Beck and Marcus Both share the lead after the first round of the Indonesia President Invitational.
Beck recovered from a double bogey on the ninth hole with eight birdies while Both struck a 25-foot birdie on his last hole to claim a share of the lead.
"It was a good round despite the double bogey where I missed an easy tap-in. Hopefully, I can continue to play well and challenge for my first Asian Tour win," said Beck.
Former Asian number one Thaworn ended his round with three successive birdies to move into a share of the lead while Purhonen shot seven birdies against one bogey to join a crowded leaderboard.
The performance was a welcome one for Thaworn, who has struggled to find form in recent tournaments,
"I have prepared well for the second half of our season and it's nice to have a good start. I'm happy but anything can still happen," said the 10-time Asian Tour winner.
