Top seed Flavia Pennetta will face defending champion Sara Errani in an all-Italian final at the Palermo Open.
Pennetta had not lost a set on her run to the last four and emphatically continued that trend today as she dispatched compatriot Tathiana Garbin 6-1 6-1.
The world number 15 has never won a title on Italian soil and will look to put that record straight when she contests her second final in Palermo after finishing as runner-up in 2004.
Fifth-seeded Errani needed three sets to defeat Germany's Anna-Lena Groenefeld at the clay-court event, prevailing 6-3 4-6 6-1 in a tough contest to improve her career record in Palermo to 12-1.
