Two Californians will meet in the final of the LA Open after Sam Querrey and Carsten Ball won their semi-finals.
Number six seed Querrey sprung a surprise by knocking out top seed Tommy Haas 6-3 7-5.
In the clash of the two players who were making their first appearances in ATP tour semi-finals, qualifier Carsten Ball defeated Argentina's Leonardo Mayer 7-5 7-6.
