Danny Lee will become the youngest player to start in a World Golf Championship event when he tees off at the Bridgestone Invitational.
New Zelander Lee is no stranger to records when he became the youngest golfer to win a European tour event.
The 19-year-old golfer is the only New Zealander in the exclusive field of 64, and a top finish could see him earn enough money to gain a PGA tour card for next year without going through the end of year qualifying tournament.
But Lee has been struggling since turning professional.
In ten starts, Lee has made only four cuts and had one top-10 finish, a tie for 7th in last months AT and T National tournament in Washington.
The 12.8-million dollar in Ohio will also see the return of Phil Mickelson who will play in his first tournament since took time off to be with both his wife and mother as they began treatment for breast cancer.
