"My next target is Zurich Lake"

Sai Prasad Mohapatra caught up with Shruti Limaye, who crossed the Santa Barbara Sea.

“It was tough in Santa Barbara. The water was freezing and I only practiced for three or four days prior to the event. It was tough to fight the cold,” she said.

The swimmer who practices in Mumbai had a tough time preparing for the event. The public pools were shut because of rains. Her next target is again quite low on temperature.

“I want to cross Zurich lake,” said Limaye, who has also crossed the English Channel.

India in the past has produced record-breaking long-distance swimmers, but Limaye needs to improve her speed considerably to compete with the current crop of long distance Olympians
