Toronto FC 1-5 Real Madrid

Spanish giants Real Madrid have finally stepped up their game by thrashing Toronto FC 1-5.

20,000 Canadian fans packed the 20,000 BMO field to welcome the Neo-Galacticos, and were not disappointed as the superstars dazzled them with their prowess.

It was, however, old favourite Raul that stole the limelight from the star-studded cast.

The Spaniard blasted a shot into the top of the goal to take his side into the lead on the 12 minute mark.

Real new boy Cristiano Ronaldo was not to be outdone however and side-footed a pass from Karim Benzema to score five minutes later.

Los Blancos were in full control and made it 3-0 when Toronto failed to clear a corner, an opportunity that Raul pounced on, the 32-year-old headed in his second from a Metzelder pass.

Real's triple threat of Ronaldo, Kaka and Karim Benzema came close to make it four before the half-time whistle, but a shot from Kaka went sailing over.

The second-half saw the debut of Xabi Alonso in Madrid colours, as he came on for Ronaldo.

An Alvaro Negredo pull-back in front of goal gave Benzema an easy tap-in on 65 minutes to make it 4-0.

A weak parry from Dudek, landed well for Gabe Gala who gave his home side a consolation goal in the 75th minute.

Arjen Robben responded five minutes from time and brought his side back up to their four goal cushion five minutes from time.

Manuel Pellegrini's men have finally shown that their skills are well worth their price tags, and will look to a similar showing when they meet DC United next.
