Qatar were held to a 1-1 draw by Gulf Cup champions Oman in a friendly in Doha.
Asian Cup 2011 hosts Qatar opened the scoring just seconds before the break as Ali Afif was allowed space to surge into the area and fire a low shot past Oman goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi.
Oman, though, earned a draw as Hassan Rabea followed up after Ahmed Hadid's 63rd minute free-kick had struck the crossbar.
Qatar continue their preparations for the 2011 Asian Cup against Croatia and Macedonia in October, while Oman continue their Group B qualifying campaign against Australia on October 14.
