Duganzdic brace in Melbourne win

Melbourne's Mate Duganzdic scored twice in a 3-2 win over Adelaide United as his team climbed to the top of the A-League.

Duganzdic was making his first start for the hosts and opened his and Melbourne's account in the 17th minute when debutant Sutee Suksomkit fed a neat pass for the 20-year-old, who fired beyond Eugene Galekovic.

Victory increased their lead in the 56th minute when Carlos Hernandez drew out Galekovic before passing to Duganzdic to put the ball into the empty net.

Adelaide reduced the deficit eight minutes later with substitute Lloyd Owusu heading a cross back for Adam Hughes to turn and smash the ball home.

But the points were made safe when Adrian Leijer rose to head home Hernandez's corner in the 89th minute.

The win means Victory move one point ahead of Gold Coast United, who play Wellington Phoenix tomorrow.

Elsewhere, North Queensland Fury moved off the bottom of the table as they battled back from a goal down to defeat Perth Glory 2-1 at Dairy Farmers Stadium.

Victor Sikora put the visitors ahead in the 25th minute, latching onto a fine pass from Branko Jelic before slotting home.

Robbie Fowler equalised in the 65th minute as he fired home a free-kick when the defenders' backs were turned before Dyron Daal scored the winner six minutes later with a fine left-footed effort.

The win was Fury's first at home and second of the season.
