FC Utrecht 2-1 Roda

FC Utrecht leapfrogged Feyenoord into fourth place in the Eredivisie with a home victory over Roda.

Jacob Mulenga struck the opener two minutes before the break, and Ricky van Wolfswinkel added a second after 74 minutes.

Willem Janssen's stoppage-time strike proved merely consolation for Roda.

The visitors had the first opportunity, Michael Vorm saving well from Ruud Vormer.

Mulenga was put through one-on-one with Bram Castro by Dries Mertens, but the Utrecht striker could not beat the visiting goalkeeper.

Boldiszar Bodor shot narrowly wide at the other end, before a defensive lapse from Eric Addo let Mulenga through to score.

Mulenga then struck into the bottom corner.

Gianluca Nijholt shot wide for Utrecht after 60 minutes, before Vorm was forced into another save by Morten Skoubo's shot from the edge of the area.

Utrecht then doubled their lead in fortunate circumstances, Van Wolfswinkel reacting first after the ball came off the post to net the hosts' second.

A mistake from Sander Keller allowed Janssen to pull one back, but it was too little too late for the visitors.
