Spain's Azahara Munoz won the Madrid Ladies Masters on her professional debut on Saturday, beating Anna Nordqvist at the first extra hole.
The pair finished tied on 16 under par after Munoz produced a closing 64 and Nordqvist a superb 63 in perfect scoring conditions at Club de Golf Retamares.
They returned to the 470-yard par-five 18th for the play-off and Munoz clinched victory in style with an eagle three after hitting a six-iron approach to 20 feet.
Munoz won the 2009 Ladies British Amateur Championship at Royal St David's in June.
She turned professional just two weeks ago prior to finishing second at the first stage of the LPGA Qualifying School.
The 21-year-old received an invitation to play this week and was planning to attend the LET qualifying school in December but can now skip it thanks to a three-year exemption.
"I can't believe I won. It's like a dream come true," said Munoz. "This is just the beginning. I'm going to keep on practising and trying to get better.
"I've been putting well all week but I've been hitting the ball pretty bad. Today I hit the ball much better and I hit it much closer and I kept on making putts. That was the key."
France's Anne-Lise Caudal tied for third with Spain's Emma Cabrera-Bello on 14 under, two strokes behind the leaders.
First round co-leader Lee-Anne Pace from South Africa, England's Rebecca Hudson and Germany's Bettina Hauert shared fifth on 13 under.
