Goals from Abhishek Yadav and Mohammad Abbas steered Mumbai FC to a surprise 2-1 victory over Mohun Bagan in the I-League in Mumbai.
Yadav struck almost immediately after kick-off following a blunder from Bagan's reserve goalkeeper Shilton Paul.
Another error from Paul helped Abbas double the lead after 41 minutes and although Snehashish Chakraborty scored on the hour for Bagan, the visitors were unable to find an equaliser.
In Margoa, Sporting Clube de Goa held Chirag United to a 1-1 draw, thanks to a late goal from Nathaniel Amos.
Chirag looked on course for victory when Edmilson Marques converted a penalty in the 79th minute, but Amos put away a cross from Joseph Pereira four minutes later.
Salgaocar Sports Club held Shillong Lajong to a goalless draw, while in Kozhikode an 11th-minute goal from Syed Rahim Nabi was enough for East Bengal to beat Viva Kerala.
