York will be in the hat for the FA Cup third round after first-half strikes from Michael Rankine and Richard Brodie proved enough for a 2-1 win over Blue Square Premier rivals Cambridge.
The Minstermen raced ahead when Michael Ingham's long goal kick was won by Rankine who turned and smashed home from distance.
Brodie slotted home a penalty after he was hauled down in the box by Robbie Willmott and while Anthony Tonkin looped a shot home after York failed to clear their lines, Martin Foyle`s side held on.
Huddersfield also booked their passage with a 1-0 win at Port Vale thanks to a stunning goal from Nathan Clarke.
Jordan Rhodes fired wide from an early opportunity for the visitors before Vale's Marc Richards squandered his team's best chance of the match when he dragged his shot horribly wide from 10 yards.
Centre-back Clarke then netted the winner with an overhead kick from 12 yards to put Lee Clark`s side through.
Lincoln avoided a giant-killing at non-league side Northwich as two goals from Jamie Clarke earned a 3-1 win.
Northwich had looked to be back in the tie when Matt Bailey cancelled out Chris Fagan's first-half volley but former Blackburn youngster Clarke's double intervention settled it after the break.
Barrow will be in the draw for round three after a 1-1 draw at Oxford.
Oxford went ahead when Jamie Cook's deflected shot beat Stuart Tomlinson before they saw Luke Foster sent-off for bringing down Robin Hulbert.
Andy Bond converted the resulting penalty but Barrow failed to use their advantage and Oxford held on to secure a replay.
Rotherham will have to travel to Luton for a replay after being held to a 2-2 draw by the non-league side.
Luton went ahead from the penalty spot. Andy Nicholas dived in with a rash challenge on Claude Gnakpa and Tom Craddock made no mistake.
Rotherham drew level when Adam Le Fondre converted Tom Pope`s pass from close range and edged ahead when Stephen Brogan headed in a Gary Roberts cross.
But Kevin Gallen fed substitute Mark Nwokeji to drill a low shot past Andy Warrington and earn Luton a second chance.
Accrington will also need a second attempt to see off Barnet after a John O'Flynn penalty in stoppage-time earned Ian Hendon`s side a 2-2 draw while Tranmere were held to a goalless draw by Aldershot.
Wrexham crashed out to a late Gordon Greer goal for Swindon while Stockport's clash with Torquay was washed out.
