Yusaku Miyazato carded a flawless seven under 65 to claim a one-stroke lead after the opening round of the Casio World Open.
The 29-year-old picked up seven birdies, including four successive from the 15th, at the Kochi Kuroshi Country Club to move ahead of Shingo Katayama (66).
Japan Tour money leader Ryo Ishikawa made a solid start by shooting a four under 68 while closest challenger Yuta Ikeda carded a 69.
