Osborne-Paradis in Super G win

Canada's Manuel Osborne-Paradis won on home snow at Lake Louise in the FIS World Cup super G.

The 25-year-old recorded a time of one minute 32.93 seconds to triumph by almost a quarter of a second ahead of Austrian favourite Benni Raich.

Another Austrian, the powerful Michael Walchhofer, completed the podium at the expense of two further home hopes, Erik Guay and Robbie Dixon.

Raich remains second in the early-season World Cup standings with 165 points. Swiss speedster Didier Cuche leads the way on 226, despite only finishing 10th today.

With downhill action to come at the American resort of Beaver Creek next weekend, Cuche will have the chance to extend his lead - though Raich will fancy his chances in the giant slalom and super combined events.
