Robin Soderling on verge of semi-finals after shocking Novak Djokovic at ATP World Tour

Robin Soderling was on the verge of reaching the semi-finals of the ATP World Tour Finals after beating Novak Djokovic 7-6 (5), 6-1 for his second straight win at the season-ending tournament.

Soderling won a tense first set despite wasting three straight set points with Djokovic serving at 5-4.

The Serb then put up little resistance in the second and was broken three straight times, netting a forehand volley on Soderling's second match point.

Soderling, who beat Rafael Nadal in his opening Group B match, finished the match with 10 aces.

The defeat ends Djokovic's 11-match winning streak. He won his first group match and can still advance to the semi-finals.

Later on Wednesday, Nadal is due to play Nikolay Davydenko.
