Bayern Munich 5-2 Hertha Berlin

Bayern Munich brought their year to a perfect end with a stylish win over Hertha Berlin in snowy conditions in Bavaria.

Daniel van Buyten put Bayern ahead in the 16th minute with Mario Gomez adding a second in the 32nd minute and Arjen Robben netting a third a minute later.

Further goals from Thomas Muller and Ivica Olic sealed Bayern's sixth straight win in all competitions, with Adrian Ramos and Raffael replying for Hertha.

Van Buyten gave Bayern an early lead against a Hertha side who had not won since the opening day of the season. He met a cross from Holger Badstuber to head past Jaroslav Drobny, who was in for a busy day.

Gomez added a second in the 32nd minute, although there was more than a hint of offside about his position as he met Philipp Lahm's cross with a side-footed shot through the legs of Drobny.

Robben made it three just over a minute later after Gomez powered his way past Steve von Bergen to send in a low cross which Drobny spilled out to the Dutchman to gift him an easy goal.

Gomez should have scored his second early in the second half when he dribbled the ball past Drobny but casually dragged his shot wide.

Hertha did not give up and Cicero's shot was only parried by Bayern keeper Hans-Jorg Butt before Lukasz Piszczek placed the loose ball against the outside of the post in the 56th minute.

But any hopes they had of recovering were dashed on the hour mark when Muller picked up a perfect ball from Robben and beat a luckless Drobny at his near post.

Bastian Schweinsteiger placed a 25-yard free-kick against the crossbar as Bayern threatened to run riot, but it was Ramos who scored the next goal, earning Hertha a consolation in the 71st minute as he took the ball round Butt and slid it past Martin Demichelis on the line.

Olic restored Bayern's four-goal advantage in the 77th minute with a shot into the bottom left-hand corner of the goal, but Hertha had the last word with Raffael stealing in to beat Butt with a header from close range in the last minute.
