Parma missed a penalty but still came from behind to beat 10-man Bologna and move clear in fourth place in Serie A.
After plenty of first-half Parma pressure, Bologna had taken the lead with a swift counter-attack moments before half-time through Gaby Mudingayi.
Christian Panucci headed Parma level in the 57th minute, but Nicola Amoruso then missed the chance to put them ahead, hitting the post with a penalty after Miguel Britos had seen red for bringing down Blerim Dzemaili.
However, Amoruso made up for it four minutes from time, tapping home after a neat move to seal the three points.
Parma were on the attack from the opening minutes, with Davide Lazafame getting a firm header on Paolo Castellini's cross, but seeing his effort blocked by Davide Bombardini.
Bologna goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano then made an outstanding save to keep out Stefano Morrone's shot after a swift Parma counterattack.
Bombardini then got in another crucial block moments later, cutting out Daniele Galloppa's cross as Cristian Zaccardo was waiting for it unmarked at the far post.
Parma's pace was proving too much for Bologna, but finding the killer ball was proving tough for the hosts in the first half.
Bologna had created little themselves, but had a great chance to nick the lead in the 35th minute when Marcelo Zalayeta stole possession and quickly found Marco Di Vaio.
The striker got his shot away, but Antonio Mirante made a good save.
However, the visitors still went in ahead after a quick counterattack from a Parma corner in the 44th minute.
Di Vaio found the run of Mudingayi, who slipped a cool low shot under the advancing Mirante.
Parma came out for the second half with renewed purpose.
Dzemaili had an early chance when he held off Bombardini to get in a header on goal, but Viviano made an easy save.
But the goalkeeper could do nothing three minutes later when Bologna failed to deal with a corner and Jonathan Biabiany sent the ball back in for Panucci to head home.
Parma continued to push for the winner, and Viviano had to make a great save to keep out Amoruso's close-range effort, using his feet to clear the ball.
Britos then hauled down Dzemaili in the 70th minute, earning a straight red card and giving Amoruso the chance to put Parma head from the spot.
But his penalty struck the outside of the post with Viviano going the right way.
But while Bologna survived that scare, there was still a sting in the tail as Galloppa used a great piece of play to find Castellini, who sent in a volleyed cross.
Zaccardo flicked it on to leave Amoruso with a simple finish at the far post.
The win leaves Parma four points clear of Sampdoria and Roma, with the latter playing later tonight.
Bologna slip down to 16th, three points clear of the drop zone.
