Marco Sturm scored an overtime winner as the Boston Bruins beat the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1 in New Year's Day's Winter Classic.
Danny Syvret gave Philadelphia the lead in the second period with the first goal of his NHL career.
However, Mark Recchi scored a last-gasp, power-play goal to force overtime and Sturm completed the comeback in front of a crowd of 38,112.
In the night's other game, the Buffalo Sabres came from 3-0 down to snatch a dramatic 4-3 win over the Atlanta Thrashers.
Goals from Ilya Kovalchuk, Evander Kane and Brian Little inside seven minutes of the second period put the Thrashers in command, but Jochen Hecht (two) and Tim Connolly forced overtime and Derek Roy grabbed the winner.
