Cagliari climbed to sixth in the Serie A standings with a comfortable victory over Livorno.
Goals from Joaquin Larrivey early in each half and a 64th-minute strike from substitute Jeda gave the Sardinians their fifth home win of the season and left them just three points adrift of third-placed Napoli.
Cagliari, who still have a game in hand on the three teams immediately above them, had set a new club record of 27 points for the first half of the season, despite still having to play Udinese.
And their charge for a place in Europe next season got off to the best of starts with Larrivey putting them ahead in the third minute.
Nelson Rivas failed to connect with his head to a lofted ball into the penalty area, but Larrivey leapt in determined fashion to head the ball through the legs of Livorno goalkeeper Alfonso De Lucia.
Alessandro Matri had the chance to double the home side's advantage in the 10th minute when he turned well inside the penalty area, but he lost control of the ball and Rivas was able to clear.
Andrea Cossu's deflected shot almost gave Matri another chance on the half-hour mark, but the Cagliari striker was just a hair's breadth away from making contact with just De Lucia to beat.
De Lucia denied Matri with 10 minutes of the first half remaining before Mozart provided the first shot on goal at the other end, and it was not a bad effort either from 35 yards out with Federico Marchetti having to scramble across his goal to push the ball wide.
Mozart then came close to equalising just before the break after an excellent team move, but his shot was blocked by Michele Canini.
Like in the first half, Cagliari hit the ground running in the second 45 minutes with Larrivey again on target early on.
De Lucia raced from his line to lunge at the feet of Matri 35 yards from goal and the ball fell to Larrivey, who lifted his shot into the empty net from the same distance with Antonio Filippini unable to get back in time to make a goal-line clearance.
Not content with a two-goal cushion, Cagliari were soon on the lookout for number three and Davide Biondini's 25-yard curling volley only just missed the post by an inch.
Jeda did then add a third less than 30 seconds after entering the field of play.
He was in the right place at the right time in the 64th minute to head the ball in after Andrea Lazzari's header across the face of goal.
Livorno tried to find a consolation, but Cagliari continued to look the more likely to score. The game's remaining best chances fell to Larrivey and Biondini, but the fourth goal was not forthcoming.
