Peer books final spot in Hobart

Shahar Peer powered her way into the final of the Moorilla Hobart International today for the loss of just two games against Sara Errani.

The Israeli second seed will play Alona Bondarenko in the title decider after beating Errani 6-2 6-0 in 78 minutes.

Despite the one-sided scoreline, Peer insisted Errani had given her a thorough workout.

She said: "It was tougher than it looked actually. The first set was very, very close but I'm very happy.

"I think I was playing better and better as the match went on and I think I finished very well so I'm happy about it."

Bondarenko will be a strong opponent after she came from a set down to topple top seed Anabel Medina Garrigues.

The Ukrainian won 4-6 6-3 6-4 after coming out on top in a gruelling encounter which lasted more than two hours.
