Hamburg failed to beat Frankfurt and maintained their unwanted record as Germany's draw specialists.
The swift return to action following Thursday's win against the Dutch giants was clearly not to Hamburg's suiting as they failed to find a goal and had to settle for a 10th draw in 23 German league outings this season.
Their cause was not helped by the absence of striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, who was ruled out by a thigh injury, and the draw does neither side any great favour as they look to clinch European places for next season. Hamburg stand fourth, with Eintracht sixth.
Eintracht were slow to get going, but Hamburg created chances - and spurned them - in the first half.
Marcell Jansen created the first opportunity when his pass found Piotr Trochowski who fired wide of the target from 18 yards.
That chance came after 23 minutes and was followed soon afterwards by another, when Jerome Boateng crossed to Marcus Berg who headed just off target, to the left of goal.
Boateng continued to cause trouble to the Eintracht defence and his cross was met by Tunay Torun who, like Berg before him, placed his header wide.
Hamburg threatened again early in the second half when Mladen Petric passed to Ze Roberto whose left-footed strike was blocked well by defender Maik Franz.
Finally a threat arrived from the visitors, as Pirmin Schwegler's right-footed strike from outside the penalty area drew a save from Frank Rost, who got down low to his right.
Eintracht troubled Rost again after 63 minutes when Patrick Ochs set up Alexander Meier on the right side of the penalty area, but the goalkeeper again smothered the danger.
Finding the target was Hamburg's clearest problem, and again they failed to test Oka Nikolov from a decent opening in the closing stages.
Taking the direct route, Rost kicked the ball long and substitute Jonathan Pitroipa produced good control before rifling his right-footed shot wide of the right post.
