Ukrainian qualifier Kristina Antoniychuk advanced to round two in the Colombian capital with a 6-1 6-4 triumph over the Spaniard.
Fourth seed Polona Hercog of Slovenia was also ousted, Colombian wild card Catalina Castano claiming a 7-5 6-2 victory.
There were no such worries for top seed Gisela Dulko, however. The Argentinian completed a straightforward 6-4 6-4 win over Frenchwoman Mathilde Johansson.
Seventh-seeded Czech Klara Zakopalova was made to work hard to get past American Lauren Albanese but eventually progressed with a 4-6 7-6 (7/2) 6-1 triumph.
Home favourite Mariana Duque Marino also advanced in three sets, beating Hungarian qualifier Greta Arn 2-6 6-0 6-3 but Patricia Mayr overcame another Colombian, wild card Paula Zabala, 6-1 6-3.
Also today, Rossana de los Rios of Paraguay and Frenchwoman Pauline Parmentier moved into round two with straight-sets victories over Slovenia's Masa Zec Peskiric and Italian qualifier Corinna Dentoni respectively.
Spain's Silvia Soler Espinosa defeated Slovakian Lenka Wienerova 3-6 6-4 6-2 and Ukraine's Mariya Koryttseva beat Spanish qualifier Laura Pous Tio 6-3 1-6 6-1.
