Lowly Young Lions recorded just a fourth S-League win of the season after downing mid-table Geyland United 2-0.
Midfielder Gabriel Quak opened the scoring at the Jalan Besar Stadium five minutes against Singapore Cup semi-finalists Geyland before the break and striker Fadhil Noh made the three points safe by netting seven minutes into the second half.
Young Lions moved four points clear of basement side Balestier Khalsa and within two points of 10th-placed Sengkang Punggol, while Geyland missed out on a chance to overtake sixth-placed Super Reds.
