Shakhtar Donetsk stepped up their pursuit of Superliga leaders Dynamo Kiev with a 4-2 win away to Arsenal Kiev.
The 2009 UEFA Cup winners are now three points behind Dynamo with a game in hand, although they got off to a bad start at Arsenal as Andriy Vorobey put the home side in front in the ninth minute.
Fernandinho equalised in the 38th minute from the spot and Shakhtar were in front two minutes later through Oleksandr Gladkyy. Kostyantin Kravchenko wrapped up the win with goals in the 72nd and 86th minutes.
Dynamo Kiev won 2-1 away to Metalist Kharkiv with goals from Tiberiu Ghioane after a quarter of an hour and Oleg Gusev midway through the second half.
Tavriya Symferopol joined third-placed Dnipro on 17 points after a goalless draw at Metallurg Donetsk while bottom side Kryvbas took their first point of the season with a 0-0 draw at Vorskla.
