Slavia Prague 1-5 Lille

Lille came from behind to thrash Slavia Prague with five goals in the second half of their Europa League clash.

Tjani Belaid's early penalty had the French side on the back foot, but they were back on level terms when Marek Suchy turned the ball into his own net early in the second half.

Pierre Alain-Frau then put them ahead with 20 minutes to go before the floodgates opened in the dying stages.

Yao Gervinho got the third with five minutes to go and Arnaud Souquet added another before Gervinho grabbed the fifth.

Slavia were gifted the early lead when Ludovic Butelle felled Zdenek Senkerik inside the area and Belaid sent the resulting penalty into the bottom left-hand corner of the net.

But despite their lead they were immediately put on the back foot as Lille poured forward in search of an equaliser.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sent a shot narrowly wide before Slavia goalkeeper Martin Vaniak was called on to tip Souquet's shot around the post.

Yohan Cabaye sent a powerful free-kick just wide and the one-way traffic continued as Aubameyang headed narrowly over from close range.

Eden Hazard's 25-yarder was held by Vaniak as Lille's frustrations in front of goal continued.

They were almost made to pay as Belaid unleashed an outstanding shot from the edge of the area which Butelle did well to keep out.

And Slavia had two more chances to extend their lead before the break, with Belaid forcing another good save from Butelle before the goalkeeper had an easier time holding on to Adam Hlousek's shot.

Aubameyang sent another header over on the stroke of half-time, but Lille's frustrations would soon end in the second period.

Just two minutes had been played when Jerry Vandam whipped in a cross and the unfortunate Suchy turned the ball into his own net.

Lille were not satisfied with that, and Hazard saw his shot saved by Vaniak as they pushed for the lead.

Substitute Alain-Frau was agonisingly close to securing it when his shot struck the post, but the forward did not have to wait long for his goal.

It came in the 70th minute as he slotted the ball home from just inside the area.

Dusan Vasilijevic headed over as Slavia sought a way back into the game, but instead it was Lille who scored again.

Two substitutes combined as Gervinho got on the end of Antonio Mavuba's cross for a simple finish.

Slavia collapsed as Souquet headed in Vandam's cross before Gervinho fired in a fifth from the edge of the area.
