Shakhtar Donetsk missed the chance to further cut the gap on Superliga leaders Dynamo Kiev after a disappointing draw away to second bottom Zakarpattya.
Shakhtar took the lead in the 37th minute through Oleksiy Gai but were pegged back by Aleksandar Trisovic's 50th-minute effort.
The result means Dynamo lead by six points, two more than they may have expected at the start of the day.
FC Zarya Lugansk saw off Illichivets Mariupol 3-2 in a match of three penalties.
Ivan Krivoshenko opened the scoring with a 32nd-minute spot-kick, with Ihor Skoba equalising with a second penalty two minutes later.
Skoba scored the game's third penalty on the stroke of half-time, with Vadim Meljnik making it 2-2 from open play and Sergiy Shevchuk striking the winner five minutes later.
FC Metalist Kharkiv beat Vorskla by a solitary goal, scored by Jackson Coelho after only three minutes.
