Fabio Quagliarella scored twice as Napoli edged Bari to claim the points in a Serie A clash.
Napoli twice came from behind before Quagliarella netted with two minutes to go to seal the points.
Bari had gone ahead twice in the second half but could not hold out and a miserable day was completed with the dismissals of Alessandro Parisi with 25 minutes to go and Andrea Ranocchia in stoppage time.
The home side had the first opening of the match after seven minutes when Walter Gargano hit a right foot shot from the edge of the Bari box but it was saved by Jean Francois Gillet.
Quagliarella went close to opening the scoring six minutes later when his volley from the edge of the box went wide of the post. The chance came about after good work by Marek Hamsik and Christian Maggio.
Gillet denied Napoli midfielder Maggio, who had been set up by Gargano, as the Bari keeper pulled off a fine save to his right.
Napoli striker German Denis then worked his own opening as he dribbled past three Bari defenders before firing a shot from about 30 yards which went just over the bar.
Quagliarella also tried his luck from 30 yards but his effort was caught by Gillet.
Hamsik then robbed possession from Leonardo Bonucci and passed to Quagliarella whose shot from 15 yards was cleared off the line by Bari defender Ranocchia.
Bari took the lead three minutes into the second half when they looked to make Napoli pay for their catalogue of missed chances.
Vitor Barreto grabbed the goal with with a deft lob after he was set up by good work from Leonardo Bonucci.
But Napoli were level after 54 minutes when Quagliarella netted with a close-range header from Gargano's perfect cross from the right.
Quagliarella went close three minutes later with a long-range shot which skimmed the bar.
Bari reclaimed the lead after 63 minutes when Ranocchia beat Morgan De Sanctis from close range after a cross from the right by Edgar Alvarez.
However, the visitors were reduced to 10 men just two minutes later when Parisi picked a second yellow card for a foul on Maggio.
Napoli equalised for the second time with 72 minutes on the clock as Maggio scored from close range after the chance was set up by Quagliarella.
Maggio went close to making it 3-2 but missed from close range after Denis had worked the opening.
With five minutes to go Napoli missed another chance to seal the win when Hamsik's shot from 25 yards went just past the post.
But with three minutes to go Quagliarella beat Gillet with a deft touch after a fine pass by Ezequiel Lavezzi.
There was still time for Ranocchia to pick up a straight red card after a bad foul on Lavezzi as Napoli picked up all three points.
