Nurnberg will be looking to remain unbeaten for three straight games for the first time this term by avoiding defeat against Stuttgart.
Only once this term have Nurnberg managed to go even two games without losing. That was back in September, and included a 0-0 draw away at tomorrow's opponents Stuttgart.
However, a lot has changed since that game and Stuttgart have managed to pull away from the relegation zone with four straight victories whereby Nurnberg remain stuck inside the bottom three.
"Alongside Bayern and Leverkusen, they are the team of the moment," recognised Nurnberg coach Dieter Hecking.
"With the potential they have got, Stuttgart will have nothing to do with a relegation battle."
Hecking's side also had their belief restored with a 3-1 win in Hannover last weekend.
"Our heads are also being held high," declared Hecking. "Why should we make ourselves out to be any smaller than we are?
"The fans are hopeful again and now it is up to us to keep this euphoria alive."
Captain Andreas Wolf returns to the team after suspension while Mike Frantz is also available again after injury.
Although Stuttgart have moved eight points clear of the bottom three since Christian Gross took over as their coach in December, the Swiss claims they are still looking over their shoulders.
"This is another game we are playing to avoid relegation," he said. "There is a lot at stake."
After selling Thomas Hitzlsperger to Lazio and Elson to Hannover, Gross has a slightly smaller squad to work with for the remainder of the season, but he is happy with the players he has got.
"We are looking a bit more courageous than we were a few weeks ago," he said on the club's website.
