Galatasaray passed up the chance to move two points clear at the Turkish Super Lig summit as they were held to a draw by Kayserispor.

Hakan Aslantas was sent off just after the hour for the hosts but Gala were unable to take advantage and remained behind leaders Fenerbahce on goal difference.

Fener can open up a three-point lead by beating Diyarbakirspor tomorrow.

In the day's other match in the Turkish top flight, Eskisehirspor overcame Istanbul Buyuksehir 2-1 to leapfrog their opponents and climb to seventh thanks to Umit Karan's 89th-minute goal.

Herve Tum looked to have earned the visitors a point when he struck midway through the second half to cancel out Jaycee John Okwunwanne's opener, but Karan had other ideas.

Tum's disappointment was compounded when he was sent off in the last minute.

Fenerbahce stretched their lead at the top of the Super Lig to four points as they beat Denizlispor 3-1 courtesy of a thrilling climax in Istanbul.

The game appeared to be heading for stalemate until Andre Santos put Fener ahead in the 77th minute, but substitute Souleymane Youla levelled five minutes later.

Goals in the final five minutes from Ozer Hurmaci and Daniel Guiza sealed the points for the leaders.

Nearest challengers Galatasaray face Gaziantepspor on Sunday.

Two goals in the final five minutes have moved Bursaspor into top spot in the Super Lig after thrilling 3-2 win at the home of title rivals Besiktas.

The two teams went into the game level on points with the prize of first place for at least 24 hours on the line.

And the game lived up to its billing as the lead changed hands three times.

Bursaspor opened the scoring through Ozan Ipek in the 19th minute, but Besiktas hit back early in the second half as Mert Nobre levelled before Deivson Bobo's 63rd minute penalty put them ahead.

But with the home fans already looking forward to going top, Ivan Ergic stunned Besiktas with an 86th-minute equaliser before Tomas Zapotocny's dramatic 89th-minute winner.

Bursaspor move on to 35 points, one above both Kayserispor and Fenerbahce, and two above fourth-placed Galatasaray. Besiktas are fifth with 32 points.

Kayserispor face Antalyaspor tomorrow, when Galatasaray are at home to Genclerbirligi.

Fenerbahce play Trabzonspor on Sunday.

Bursaspor moved into second place in the Turkish Super Lig with a 1-0 win over Galatasaray to replace their opponents behind leaders Fenerbahce on goal difference.

The home side also had a man sent off in the 90th minute but were able to hold on for the win.

Volkan Sen got the only goal after 57 minutes before Ozan Ipek was dismissed.

The win leaves Bursaspor on 29 points along with Galatasaray, with Fenerbahce two points better off.

Bursaspor missed the chance to move second in the Turkish Super Lig as they squandered a first-half lead to lose 2-1 to Genclerbirligi.

The hosts, who trail leaders Fenerbahce by five points and Galatasaray by two, went ahead through Ivan Ergic's 24th-minute strike.

But Hursut Meric levelled five minutes before the interval and an 80th-minute equaliser from substitute Mustafa Pektemek - introduced just five minutes previously - ensured Genclerbirligi jumped three places to sixth in the table.

Bursaspor climbed above Galatasaray into second place in the Super Lig after thrashing eight-man Istanbul Buyuksehir 6-0.

Omer Erdogan (12) and Ozan Ipek (16) put hosts Bursaspor in early control and Pablo Batalla added a third shortly before half-time. Volkan Sen made it four after 65 minutes, Turgay Bahadir (74) added the fifth and Ali Tandogan wrapped it up with nine minutes to go.

It was a day to forget for the visitors, who had Kanfory Sylla, Ibrahim Akin and substitute Okan Buruk sent off in the second period.

The defeat for Istanbul allowed Besiktas to move above them into thanks to a 1-0 win away to Eskisehirspor. Ekrem Dag got the only goal for the Black Eagles.

Kasimpasa remain rooted to the bottom of the Turkish Super Lig after losing 2-1 at nine-man Besiktas.

Goals from Nihat (8) and Deivson Bobo (38) put the home side in command before a fiery closing spell saw Fabian Ernst and Matteo Ferrari sent off on 83 and 87 minutes respectively.

Andre Moritz pulled a goal back from the penalty spot for Kasimpasa a minute from the end.

Bursaspor are third in the table on goal difference after a last-gasp 3-2 win at 10-man Denizlispor.

Tijani Babangida put the home side in front but Turgay Bahadir (43) and Pablo Batalla (61) made it 2-1 to the visitors.

Denizlispor equalised through Darryl Roberts on 75 minutes despite having Damien Chrysostome sent off two minutes earlier, but Tomas Zapotocny grabbed the winner in the last minute for Bursaspor.

Trabzonspor were held to a goalless draw by Gaziantepspor in the Turkish Super Lig.

The hosts had been hoping to break into the top three with a win, but were frustrated by a stubborn Gaziantepspor defence.

Fenerbahce took a three-point lead in the Super Lig standings with a 2-1 win at Antalyaspor.

Former Sheffield United wide man Kazim Kazim gave Fener a 10th-minute lead but Ali Zitouni cancelled out that advantage 11 minutes later.

A draw looked on the cards until the final minute when Turkey international Semih Senturk, on as a 50th-minute substitute, grabbed a winner which maintained Fenerbahce's 100% start to the league season with seven games now played.

Galatasaray can join them on maximum points if they beat Eskisehirspor tomorrow.

Sivasspor fought hard for a 1-1 draw away to fellow Turkish Super Lig strugglers Denizlispor.

The visitors picked up seven yellow cards, including two for Kadir Bekmezci who was sent off after 72 minutes.

Ibrahami Sahin had given Sivasspor the lead after 57 minutes but substitute Ahmet Cebe earned the home side a point with 12 minutes to go.

The draw leaves both teams in the bottom three of the table.

Josh Simpson gave the home side an eighth-minute lead and Isaac Promise doubled their advantage on the stroke of half-time.

Ibrahim Sahin pulled one back for the visitors nine minutes after the interval but the equaliser was not forthcoming and late substitute Kemal Okyay made the points safe in the last minute.

Finally, Denizlispor and Diyarbakirspor battled out a goalless draw, the home team ending with 10 men following the dismissal of Branimir Bajic four minutes from time.

Galatasaray made it two wins out of two with an impressive 4-1 victory over rock-bottom Denizlispor.

Emil Angelov gave the visitors the lead in the 39th minute but Harry Kewell equalised from the spot on the stroke of half-time and Arda Turan put Galatasaray in front on the hour mark.

Kewell's second penalty of the night and an own goal from Ahmet Solakel sealed the result for Frank Rijkaard's men.

A last-gasp goal saw Diyarbakirspor pick up their first points of the season against Trabzonspor.

Remzi Giray Kacar put the hosts in front in the 35th minute but Thierry Tazemeta levelled matters in the 69th minute and snatched all three points right at the death.

Elsewhere, Ankaragucu and Manisaspor both recorded their second point of the fledgling season after playing out a 1-1 draw.

Josh Simpson was sent off for Manisaspor in the 70th minute but Isaac Promise gave them the lead eight minutes later.

However, Darius Vassel pounced in the final minute to steal a share of the points for the hosts.

Ankaraspor opened the new Super Lig season with a late 1-0 victory at Antalyaspor.

The match appeared to be heading for a stalemate when Murat Tosun popped up in the 89th minute to score the winner.

Trabzonspor also made a successful start to their campaign, beating last season's runners-up Sivasspor 2-1.

Selcuk Inan (10) and Ceyhun Gulselam (78) netted for Trabzonspor with Yannick Kamanan replying for the hosts.

Ceyhun Eris grabbed a double as Ankaragucu played out a 2-2 draw with Diyarbakirspor, who got on the scoresheet through Adnan Gungor and Andres Mendoza.
