Moratti: Maicon is worlds best

Inter president Massimo Moratti has come out in support of Massimo Maicon saying he is the best full-back in the world.

Speaking on Inter's official website Moratti praised his highly sought after star following his victory with Brazil in the Confederations Cup.

"I was convinced he would win the prize for best player at the Confederations Cup, but I am obviously happy for Kaka, who is a great guy."

It has been reported that Maicon was upset that the Nerazzurri had focused so much attention on keeping striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and that he felt disrespected by the club.

"We know Maicon's true value, we have never underestimated him. It is not difficult to say who is the strongest full-back in the world. He's been here three years and contributed to our success," he continued.

"His demands? These are issues that affect the club. Why are you concerned about them? He is strong, as are all the players on this team. We will always reinforce through our acquisitions, like Milito and Thiago Motta.

"The percentages that Maicon and Ibrahimovic will leave. What percentages?"

Indeed, the most recent reports from the peninsula suggest that the star duo will remain with Inter this summer, despite interest from England and Spain.
