Querrey goes through at Newport

Sam Querrey and Philipp Petzschner both qualified for the second round of the Campbell's Hall of Fame Tennis C'ships..

Time was made up iin Newport following Wednesday's rains.

Sixth-seeded Petzschner needed little time to finish the job of beating Argentina's Horacio Zeballos - a game that started yesterday - and advanced 6-4 6-7 (4-7) 6-2.

American Querrey, seeded third, converted four of his seven break points in beating Spain's 6-3 6-2 inside an hour. He will now face 2008 runner-up Prakash Amritraj in the next round.

Fellow American Alex Bogomolov Jr also went through, coming from behind to beat Arnaud Clement of France 1-6 6-3 6-4.

Bogomolov Jr will face another Frenchman, Nicolas Mahut, in the next round after he beat American Amer Delic 6-4 6-4.
