Gabriel Obatola bagged a brace as Gombak United moved into the top three in the S.League with a 2-1 win over Balestier Khalsa.
Obatola struck in the 14th and 67th minutes to put the hosts two goals up and set them on their way to their first win in six games.
New signing Oh Ddog Yi grabbed a late goal for Balestier with his first for the club with 17 minutes to play.
Oh was one of four new signings who had helped inspire successive wins for Balestier but his goal failed to help last year's bottom side move any further away from cellar-dwellers Young Lions.
They are now only a point off the bottom having played a game more, while Gombak move two points clear in third place ahead of DPMM Brunei.
