LA Dodgers hammer Brewers

Manny Ramirez and Matt Kemp hit a homer a piece as the Los Angeles Dodgers trounced the Milwaukee Brewers 17-4.

Ramirez ended his 10-game RBI drought with a homer and a two-run double, while Kemp drove in five runs for the National League West leaders.

The Chicago Cubs remain in pole position in the NL Central thanks to a 6-3 victory over the Cincinnati Reds.

New arrival Tom Gorzellany limited the Reds to only three hits and drove in a run, while Kosuke Fukudome and Derrek Lee had homers for the Cubs.

Albert Pujols' grand slam in the 10th inning - his second homer of the game - helped the St Louis Cardinals, who are virtually tied with the Cubs atop the division, rally to beat the New York Mets 12-7.

Pujols finished with four hits and drove five runs while Ryan Ludwick had a homer and two RBI as St Louis inflicted a fifth defeat in six on the Mets.

Another late spurt saw the Washington Nationals come from behind to post a 6-4 triumph over the Florida Marlins.

An eighth-inning two-run homer from Adam Dunn capped the Nationals' fightback, who had trailed 4-0 heading into the eighth.

The Arizona Diamondbacks crushed the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-0 on Tuesday night.

Yusmeiro Petit took a no-hitter into the eighth inning for the victors.

Ryan Roberts went four for five with two home runs for the Diamondbacks, while Chris Young also homered and Mark Reynolds had three hits and an RBI.

Freddy Sanchez and Pablo Sandoval hit back-to-back homers in the sixth inning off reliever Wesley Wright as the San Francisco Giants thrashed the Houston Astros 8-1.

Garrett Atkins homered and recorded four RBI as the Colorado Rockies posted their fifth consecutive win with an 8-3 triumph over the Philadelphia Phillies.

A fifth-inning go-ahead homer from Martin Prado helped lift the Atlanta Braves to a 9-2 win over the San Diego Padres in the second of three games at PETCO Park.

Prado was three for five with two runs scored while Matt Diaz struck a two-run homer.
