Seeded squash players have it easy


The seeded won the first round of the Rs 2,10,000 prize money Sprite-ISP All India Open Squash Tournament 2009.

Rahil Fazelbhoy, the top seed in the boys U-15 from Maharashtra hardly broke a sweat before getting the better of local qualifier Aditya K 11-1, 11-2, 11-3 in the first round of the Rs 2,10,000 prize money Sprite-ISP All India Open Squash Tournament 2009, the 93rd tournament to be organized by the Indian Squash Professionals (ISP), at the Kendriya Vidyalaya squash courts in New Delhi.

The tournament has received around 175 entries.

In the boys under-13 category, top seed Yohan Pandole too had an easy outing, defeating Vishnu V 11-2, 11-5, 11-2.

In the girls u-17 matches, Amodini Gupta and Tanvi Khanna scored facile wins over Kanishka P and Malvika respectively.

Boys U-13: Vedant Agarwal bt Akhil Khattar 11-4,11-6,11-9l; Nishchav bt Vishrut 3-11,1-11,1-11; Harsh J bt Rahul V 11-5,11-6,11-8; Nicholas J. lost to Vishrut K 2-11, 5-11, 7-11; Ramit B. bt Vidand A 11-3,11-3,11-2; Yohan Pandole bt Vishnu V 11-2 , 11-5 11-2.

Boys U-15: Sammar Mittal bt Arnab Vohra 11-4. 11-4, 11-5; Rahil Fazelbhoy bt Aditya K 11-1, 11-2, 11-3; Divij Singh bt Sammar K11-2,11-6,11-2; Abhishek Kumar bt Akshad A 11-8,11-8, 11-6.

Girls U-17: Aamodini Gupta bt Kanishka P 11-8,11-4; Tanvi Khanna bt Malvika 11-1, 11-1.
