Wolfsburg 2-4 Hamburg

Hamburg remain unbeaten in their Bundesliga campaign but were made to work hard for their victory against Wolfsburg.

Early strikes from Paolo Guerrero and Eljero Elia put the visitors in the driving seat, but Wolfsburg clawed their way back through Zvjezdan Misimovic and Obafemi Martins.

However, Hamburg made a further spell of pressure count with strikes from Mladen Petric and Romeo Castelen earning them their second win in three matches.

They join Bayer Leverkusen and Schalke in a three-way tie at the top of the table, one point ahead of Wolfsburg who suffered their first defeat of the season.

Hamburg were ahead after just three minutes at Volkswagen Arena when David Jarolim provided a cross for Guerrero to turn home from 16 yards.

The hosts had barely had time to digest that goal when they found themselves trailing 2-0 thanks to Elia's right-footed strike into the bottom left corner.

Guerrero came close to adding another midway through the half but saw his header go inches over the crossbar.

Wolfsburg's fightback began seven minutes after the restart with Misimovic tapping home from close range.

Substitute Martins then cancelled out Hamburg's advantage four minutes later, rising to meet a cross from Misimovic to head home from a few yards out.

Hamburg rallied though, and regained the lead after 75 minutes when Dennis Aogo swung in a right-footed cross which Petric blasted into the bottom-right corner.

Castelen then made certain of the three-point haul in the dying seconds, firing low into the net from a difficult angle.
