Eintracht Frankfurt made it five Bundesliga games unbeaten with victory at Freiburg thanks to two second-half goals.
Michael Skibbe's side rode their luck somewhat, with Ivica Banovica hitting the woodwork for the hosts, but took the lead through Maik Franz before Alexander Meier made sure in injury time.
The first half was a largely dull affair with the battle taking place in midfield.
Frankfurt, who were the better team, went close when Ioannis Amanatidis saw his shot deflected over the crossbar from close range while, for Freiburg, Pavel Krmas should have done better than head straight at goalkeeper Oka Nikolov from right in front of goal.
Freiburg were desperately unlucky three minutes after the break when Banovica beat Nikolov with a free-kick but saw the ball rebound off a post.
Mohammadou Idrissou got his head to the ball but could only place it into the goalkeeper's arms.
Cris then blazed a shot over the crossbar at the other end before Selim Teber followed suit as the visitors began to exert some concerted pressure.
They made it count in the 68th minute when a deflected free-kick fell into the path of Franz, who could not miss from three yards out.
Julian Schuster attempted to respond for Freiburg from a set-piece but it was another effort too close to Nikolov.
Freiburg threw everything at Frankfurt in the vain search for an equaliser but that only left them exposed at the back and Meier had a clear run on goal before slotting home three minutes into injury time.
