Erat treble seals predator win

Martin Erat scored his second NHL hat-trick as Nashville Predators cruised to a 4-2 win over Vancouver Canucks.

The right-wing ace also assisted in the other goal, scored by Patric Hornqvist, as the Predators claimed a first home win over Vancouver since November 2006.

Ryan Kessler and Daniel Sedin scored for the Canucks, who could not prevent their opponents moving within three points of divisional leaders Chicago Blackhawks.

Montreal Canadiens moved level on points with Ottawa in the North-East Division after a 4-1 win over the Senators.

Jaroslav Halak made a stunning 45 saves and Tomas Plekanec contributed three assists as Mike Cammalleri, Marc-Andre Bergeron, Andrei Kostitsyn and Scott Gomez fired the Canadiens to victory.

Mike Fisher was the one man to beat Halak, while Montreal were forced to withdraw right-winger Ryan White due to ineligibility, having not informed the NHL of his recall from AHL side Hamilton.

Mike Richards, Claude Giroux and Jeff Carter scored twice apiece as Philadelphia Flyers routed Atlantic Division rivals New York Islanders 6-2. John Tavares bagged two power-play markers for New York.

Saku Koivu's overtime goal gave Anaheim Ducks a 4-3 win over Dallas Stars, after Dan Sexton had scored his first two NHL goals.
