A-League Saturday Review

Perth Glory will head into their A-League play-off campaign in confident mood after ending the season with a 2-0 win over Brisbane Roar.

Scott Neville scored his first league goal after nine minutes when keeper Matthew Ham misjudged Todd Howarth's cross and the defender was presented with a simple finish.

Daniel McBreen had a goal chalked off for offside in the second half before Scott Bulloch made the points safe in the 73rd minute when he beat Ham with an emphatic finish.

Elsewhere, goals from David Williams and Terry Cooke saw North Queensland Fury shock Gold Coast United 2-1 at Dairy Farmers Stadium and deny the visitors a top-two finish.

Williams put Fury in front with eight minutes gone. It was his powerful strike that initially smacked the crossbar and although the ball fell to Cooke, his shot was blocked only for Williams to bury the rebound.

Joel Porter equalised in the 63rd minute when he latched on to Shane Smeltz's flick and found the back of the net with a low drive.

Cooke snatched the points for North Queensland seven minutes from time when he headed home Paul Kohler's cross.
