"ICL players are at a disadvantage"

Former Indian cricketer Karsan Ghavri, speaking to Sai Prasad Mohapatra, revealed the drawbacks of the rebel ICL.

Ghavri, who is a coach with one of the ICL teams said the players have not been able to play enough cricket and thereby suffered from lack of practice.

The problem is that ICL players cannot play anywhere else. They can’t even play club cricket.”

Ghavri further added that game has turned individual now and each player will have to decide for himself.

Gharvi mentioned that the BCCI's attempt to reconciliation was a positive move. Referring to the development for players in both the IPL and the ICL, he said the ICL recruits had a huge disadvantage.

“If a few guys leave the ICL and join the BCCI, they would be able to join the IPL. They would then start playing Ranji Trophy irrespective of states. Even coaches start leaving, that’s a great disadvantage to ICL.”
