Tampines Rovers ended their three-match losing streak as Edward Tan's strike secured a 1-0 win over Balestier Khalsa.
Defender Tan netted after 21 minutes as Vorawan Chitavanich's Rovers, who were without five first team regulars through injury and suspension - including leading scorer Noh Alam Shah, claimed all three points.
The win lifts Rovers above Gombak United and Brunei DPMM into second place, 11 points adrift of two-time defending champions Singapore Armed Forces.
