Genoa 2-2 Parma

Genoa and Parma shared four goals at the to keep up their searches for a place in Europe next season.

Rodrigo Palacio gave Genoa the lead in the 14th minute, but after the home side had wasted numerous chances, Jonathan Biabiany equalised 10 minutes before the break.

Biabiany put Parma ahead in the 59th minute, but Raffaelle Palladino levelled for the home side eight minutes later to earn them a point.

Genoa were ahead in the 14th minute when Domenico Criscito played a searching ball forward from just inside his own half and Palacio did the rest, using his strength to hold off Alessandro Lucarelli, pass him and then place his shot low into the bottom left corner from 10 yards.

Genoa searched for a second and, in the 23rd minute, an excellent team move saw Giuseppe Sculli set the ball moving with a pass to Palladino, who switched sides to find Giandomenico Mesto on the right wing.

His cross back to the far post reached Palladino, but he was adjudged to be in an offside position as he stroked the ball back into the centre, where Sculli's tap-in from five yards was ruled out.

Omar Milanetto provided Palladino with another chance in the 28th minute, but Antonio Mirante was equal to the effort and another chance went begging for Genoa in the 35th minute when Milanetto sent Palladino through once again.

This time, Palladino had support in the form of Palacio, but rather than find his team-mate in acres of space to his right, the Italy striker selfishly tried to beat Mirante, who made another save to deny him.

And Genoa were made to pay for their profligacy as Parma broke to level less than 60 seconds later.

Daniele Galloppa sent the ball through to Biabiany, one of the quickest players in Serie A, and a burst of pace allowed him to race away from the last Genoa defender before slotting the ball past Scarpi.

Parma took heart from the goal and they could have gone ahead with just 20 seconds on the clock in the second half when Luca Antonelli found himself alone in front of Scarpi, but rather than shoot, the full-back lifted the ball back into the centre where there was no team mate in support.

The visitors took a deserved lead in the 59th minute with more defensive disorganisation from Genoa allowing Davide Lanzafame to lift the ball over to Biabiany, who side-footed in his and Parma's second.

It was Genoa's turn to respond, and they did so with Palladino volleying in an equaliser from the edge of the penalty area in the 67th minute.

Genoa had the ball in the back of the net again three minutes later as the ball bounced around the penalty area, taking touches off Salvatore Bocchetti, Sculli and Milanetto on its way in, but the last touch was deemed to have been from an offside position.

The hosts pushed forward and had chances to win the game, but the best chance fell to the visitors in the 88th minute when Cristian Zaccardo headed Paolo Castellini's cross over the bar from just six yards out.
