In a one-sided contest, Australia beat New Zealand by 62 runs to enter the semi-finals of the Under-19 World Cup.
Australia put up 232 for eight after electing to bat at the Mainpower Oval in Rangiora.
And then the Aussie bowlers faced few problems in dismissing New Zealand for 170 in 43.2 overs.
Australia, after losing an early wicket in the form of Tim Beaton, Nic Maddinson (37) and Mitchell Marsh (53) went for their shots with ease and the pair put on a half-century stand.
Alex Keath (32), Tim Armstrong (39) and the wicketkeeper Tom Triffitt (23 from 30 balls) also chipped in with fine knocks each.
Replying to a stiff target, New Zeland failed to come up with a decent batting display, losing wickets at regular intervals.
The Black Caps lost six wickets for less than 100 runs on the board and then it was just a matter of time before their innings folded 62 runs short of the required target.
