A brilliant half-ton from Paul Stirling led Ireland to a seven-wicket (D/L method) win over Zimbabwe in the U-19 plate quarterfinal match.
With this victory, Ireland have secured a place in the semi-finals of the Plate Championship.
Ireland decided to put Zimbabwe in to bat in a rain curtailed contest that was reduced to 27-over-a-side affair.
Ireland's new-ball bowler Craig Young came up with a superb spell, taking 4 wickets for 14, to help his team bundle out Zimbabwe for just 102 in 26.2 overs. Shane Getkate and George Dockrell chipped in with two wickets each.
Peter Moor (28) top scored for Zimbabwe.
Chasing a modest target, Ireland lost an early wicket but Stirling hit a fine 50-ball 65, studded with seven fours and a six, while Andrew Balbirnie scored an unbeaten 20 to take Ireland home comfortably in the 21st over
