Russell Westbrook scored 29 points and Kevin Durant added 25 as Oklahoma City Thunder clinched a 98-85 victory over the Chicago Bulls.
Derrick Rose scored 19 points and Joakim Noah had 14 points and 14 rebounds for the Bulls.
Rose and Durant - the NBA's fourth top scorer - have been named the Eastern and Western Conference players of the week, respectively, for games played December 28-January 3.
The victory was Oklahoma City's sixth in seven games and sees them return to winning ways after Milwaukee Bucks had ended their five-game winning streak on Saturday.
Devin Brown scored a career-best 30 points as New Orleans guaranteed victory over Utah Jazz with a late score by Chris Paul in the Western Conference.
Paul stole the ball to convert with 27 seconds left to halt a late threat by the Jazz and claim a 91-87 win, the Hornets' first in Utah in almost four years.
Paul finished with 12 points as the Hornets ended a six-game losing streak at Utah.
Carlos Boozer added 18 points and 14 rebounds for Utah while Deron Williams had 17 points and 11 assists, giving him 3,003 assists for his career.
Martell Webster scored a season's best 25 points but Portland Trailblazers still went down to a 105-95 defeat by Los Angeles Clippers.
As well as Webster's efforts, which included five three-pointers, Andre Miller had 22 points and 16 assists and Juwan Howard added 16 points for the Blazers, who won 103-99 last week in Portland.

Michael Beasley ended the game with 22 points and eight boards, while Udonis Haslem finished with 12 points and eight rebounds off the bench to snap a three-game losing streak for Heat.
Jamal Crawford ended with a team-best 23 points and Joe Johnson had 11 points and six rebounds for the Hawks, who have now lost four straight games.
