Bochum 1-1 Bayer Leverkusen

Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen saw their two-point advantage at the summit evaporate as they drew at Bochum.

Leverkusen went ahead in the 45th minute through Eren Derdiyok but Zlatko Dedic equalised to secure the hosts a share of the spoils in the 68th minute.

Jupp Heynckes' Leverkusen are still undefeated this season but are now level on 45 points with Bayern Munich, who triumphed 3-1 at Wolfsburg this afternoon.

Bochum increased their unbeaten streak to five games to improve to 22 points for 14th place - five points clear of the drop zone.

The home team started the match seemingly content to play long balls forward but Leverkusen goalkeeper Rene Adler twice in the first seven minutes cleared well from outside the area.

The first real chance of the game came after 26 minutes as Stefan Kiessling passed to Derdiyok, whose header was kept out by Bochum goalkeeper Philipp Heerwagen.

The visiting fans were celebrating on the stroke of half-time, however, following a swift counter-attack. Derdiyok collected a pass from Kiessling on the left, turned and struck into the bottom-left corner.

Tranquillo Barnetta went close to doubling Leverkusen's advantage 10 minutes after the break but his shot found only the roof of the net.

Bochum got back on level terms midway through the second period. Lewis Holtby found Dedic, who poked the ball past the out-charging Adler and watched it go in off the right-hand post.

The hosts had another chance on the counter-attack in the 90th minute with Dedic sending a long ball to Stanislav Sestak, who shot over the bar.

Barnetta had the final opportunity of the contest for Leverkusen but blasted narrowly wide right two minutes into stoppage time.
