Cavaliers make it four in a row

The Cleveland Cavaliers crushed the visiting New York Knicks 124-93 in the NBA to stretch their winning run to four games.

LeBron James led the scoring for the Eastern Conference leaders with 22 points, and it took a rally from the Knicks in the fourth quarter to salvage a modicum of pride, after they had led the Cavaliers score 74 points in the first half.

The Orlando Magic, second in the Eastern Conference, were also emphatic winners as they beat the Philadelphia 76ers 126-105 on the back of 22 points and 10 assists from Jameer Nelson.

Jamal Crawford scored 21 points as the Atlanta Hawks proved far too strong for the Chicago Bulls who fell to a 116-92 home defeat. Derrick Rose scored 24 points in reply.

Dirk Nowitzki inspired an eighth successive win for the Dallas Mavericks, scoring 27 points in an 89-84 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats.

Caron Butler and Jason Terry also made crucial scoring contributions as the Mavericks came from behind to keep their run going.

The Houston Rockets recorded a 116-92 win over the Toronto Raptors, largely thanks to the efforts of Kevin Martin and Aaron Brooks who each finished with 28 points.

The Portland Trailblazers made a slow start but fought back to edge the Memphis Grizzlies 103-93. The Grizzlies led by 12 points at the midway point but were pegged back as Brandon Roy's 25 points and 21 from Nicolas Batum helped Portland fight back.

Tim Duncan scored 22 points for the San Antonio Spurs, in their 106-92 win over the New Orleans Hornets, while the Phoenix Suns beat the Denver Nuggets 101-85.

The LA Clippers held off the fast-finishing Utah Jazz to post a surprise 108-104 victory in the late match, with Eric Gordon scoring 24 points.
