Caroline Wozniacki eases through


Caroline Wozniacki eased through to the second round of the Collector Swedish Open with a win over Sofia Arvindsson.

World number nine Wozniacki was joined in the second round by second seed Dominika Cibulkova, who was made to struggle by Swedish wild-card Sandra Roma before triumphing 6-3 2-6 6-1.

Third seed Flavia Pennetta is also through after winning an all-Italian tussle with Francesca Schiavone 6-2 7-5, but fourth seed Kaia Kanepi was beaten 6-1 7-6 by Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez of Spain.

Qualifier Peta Kvitova continued her progress, leading Julia Vakulenko 6-3 4-1 when her opponent retired injured, and wild-card Ellen Allgurin pleased the home crowd with a 6-4 6-4 win over Kyrgyzstan qualifier Ksenia Palkina.
