Hertha Berlin 0-0 Bochum

Hertha Berlin retained their record of having not conceded a goal in 2010 but could not beat Bochum as they look to climb out of the Bundesliga relegation zone.

Berlin have claimed a victory and two draws so far this year but remain in last place with 11 points - seven points from safety.

Bochum have gained two wins and two draws in their last four games to improve to 21 points and 14th place in the Bundesliga table - four points clear of the drop zone.

The first half proved to be a nervy affair with neither side able to create any serious chances in the first 45 minutes.

Berlin started the second half in better shape and had the first opportunity eight minutes in with Raffael dribbling to his right and unleashing a shot from 18 yards which went just wide.

Hertha increased the pressure and forced a great save from Bochum keeper Philipp Heerwagen in the 63rd minute, as he stopped Cicero's shot from close range after a corner had found its way to him.

Arne Friedrich unleashed a strike from a corner two minutes later but the ball went just wide.

Bochum finally had a clear-cut chance a minute later. Roman Prokoph crossed from the left side to Stanislav Sestak, but he shot wide from eight yards.

With 16 minutes left, Cicero's header from Valeri Domovchiyski's deflected cross found only the roof of the net.

Bochum nearly stole the points in the final seconds but Milos Maric's free kick glanced the outside of the right-hand post.
